About Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry according to the law is a non-government non-profit self-governing organisation incorporating on a voluntary basis legal entities and Ukrainian citizens registered as entrepreneurs as well as their associations.
Nearly 9,000 enterprises and companies of different forms of property are members of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry now.
The main chamber objective is creating favourable conditions for the national business environment, supporting relations between Ukrainian and foreign business partners in economy, science and trade, representing economic concerns of the chamber members in Ukraine and overseas.
The Ukrainian CCI carries out its tasks either alone or through the regional chambers of commerce and industry operating in all 24 Ukrainian administrative regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as well as in Kyiv and Sevastopol, which are incorporated and whose activities are coordinated by the Ukrainian CCI as well as through companies and other institutions established by the Ukrainian Chamber.
The Chamber renders practical assistance to entrepreneurs in conducting trade and economy transactions in internal and external markets, promote exports of Ukrainian goods and services, providing its members with a broad range of its professional services, including consultations on foreign trade and market conditions, independent inspection of foreign trade goods, evaluating property, declaring foreign trade shipments (on agreement with customs authorities), protecting intellectual property and rendering bar-code services. The chamber provides the Ukrainian and foreign customers with economic and legal information, organizes seminars, conferences, exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, holds business negotiations, and other services for entrepreneurs` activities.
The Ukrainian CCI and its regional branches authorised by the Ukrainian government to issue certificates of origin of goods.
The Ukrainian CCI testifies to force majeur circumstances, customs of the port and trade effective in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian CCI keeps a non-government register of Ukrainian companies whose financial standing proves their sustainability as business partners in Ukraine and abroad. Certificates issued by the Chamber to such companies testify to reliability of Ukrainian companies vis-a-vis their foreign counterparts.
An international commercial arbitration court that has won recognition among the world business community is operating under the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Chamber maintains sectoral business committees which carry out independent analysis of bills on the development of international economic relations and other issues of business activity in the country to submit their suggestions on behalf of the Ukrainian CCI and its member companies to the national government for consideration.
The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce and World Chamber Federation, the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambres), Black Sea Economic Co-operation Business Council, the Association of the Central European Initiative Chambers of Commerce.
The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry maintains partnership contacts on an agreement basis with chambers of commerce and other partner organisations in about 80 countries.
To facilitate international economic relations the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry establishes business councils - joint consultative and advisory bodies with its foreign partners.
